Do I need to be in shape before joining?

Absolutely not. Our members come with an array of fitness backgrounds, from complete beginners to seasoned athletes and those returning from a long break or recovering from an injury. There’s no judgement, no expectations and we pride ourselves on being a safe space where everyone can flourish and feel comfortable.

I’m not very fit… is This is Fitness really for people like me?

Yes - that’s exactly who we’re built for. Most of our members started feeling unsure, unfit, not knowing what or how to get the results they were looking for, or nervous about joining a gym.

We coach real people looking to improve their health and fitness. 

Do I need to be confident or have any experience before I start?

Not at all. Confidence comes after you start, not before. Every session is coached, guided, and adapted to suit you and your needs - it's not a one-size fits all approach and we're here to guide you every step of the way.

Is it personal training or classes?

It’s Small Group Personal Training. You train in a small group, but still get personal coaching, corrections, and support - the best of both worlds (with the ultimate flexibility).

What if I have injuries, aches, or long-standing niggles?

That’s normal. We specialise in working around injuries, not ignoring them. Everything is scaled and coached safely - and we’ll always prioritise how your body feels.

Is it intense or intimidating?

No. It’s structured, supportive, and encouraging. We work hard - but in a sensible, safe and confidence-building way. 

How often do I need to train to see results?

Most people see great results training 2–3 times per week. Consistency beats intensity every time - and we help you build habits that actually stick.

Is this just about weight loss?

Weight loss can happen - but our focus is bigger: strength, energy, confidence, movement, and feeling capable in everyday life. Looking better is a bonus; feeling better is the goal.

What makes This is Fitness different from a normal gym?

You’re never left alone, never ignored, and never just a number. We coach, we know your name, we care how you’re doing — and we build a genuine community, that cares about you and your progress.
